Welcome to the website for POA candidate
Jeff Bill

Thank you for coming to my website!

My name is Jeff Bill and I am running for re-election to the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association Board of Directors.

In my previous term I focused on security and slowing spending as my main priorities. I wrote the initial rules for the Ebike registration program with assistance from other members of the SAC. In addition to E-bike rules I also wrote the job description and was instrumental in the pursuit and hiring of a CLPOA Community Patrol manager as I promised I would when I ran for the board the first time.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

For the first time in many years our board went months without a lawsuit against the POA.

Slowed spending on community projects.

Worked with other board members in finalizing the sale of the fire station.

Improved our reserve levels.

Functioned as a Laison for various committees.

Repaired strained relations between the POA, the city of Canyon Lake and EVMWD to work together for Canyon Lake.

Laison for the Finance committee, Estates committee and Facilities Planning Committee.

Change the Bylaws that currently allow the POA to sell property without the vote of the members.

I did what I said I would but there is still much to be done!

Having achieved my community patrol and project spending goals in my first term, I will now focus on the following:

• Financial management of the POA and evaluating the operational efficiency of our amenities and addressing the associated costs. I’m tired of dues increases every year. Sometimes it is necessary, other times we just need to quit spending on new projects. But the last thing I want to see is our seniors and people who have raised families here priced out of their homes due to financial reasons as a result of wasteful spending.

• Improved communications between the POA and the community.

• The finance and FPC committee should be reviewing all construction & development bids to maintain transparency and ensure they meet the required criteria.

• Work with and empower committees to help the board make informed decisions. We should be considering input from committee/community members who have expertise in the areas board members do not. Committees are the voice of the community in many ways, we should have committees work with other committees to ensure a well-rounded team approach to developing satisfactory solutions for all Canyon Lakers.

LET'S BE REALISTIC

SECURITY AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT....

Security and financial management are essential, yet often overlooked once elected officials begin prioritizing their own projects. The question arises whether they possess genuine knowledge of their responsibilities or merely offer empty promises to secure votes.

MY PRIMARY OBJECTIVE....

My primary objective for the next three years is to prioritize safety and maintenance rather than investing in new large-scale projects. Moreover, I aim to scrutinize the high subsidies allocated to certain amenities and explore ways to enhance these amenities while reducing operating costs. Although costs have increased, I believe there is an opportunity to achieve greater efficiency and maximize the value obtained from our expenditure.

BRINGING EXPERIENCE TO THE ROLE....

With over 30 years of experience in various corporate roles, including VP/GM positions with comprehensive P&L responsibility, my expertise extends beyond mere budgetary oversight. I have successfully led two initiatives to restore companies to profitability and have owned or partnered in four different businesses. This extensive experience has equipped me with a profound understanding of fiscal management and return on investment strategies. In my upcoming term, I will concentrate on the financial management of the POA.

WHY RUN FOR THE BOARD?

My focus is the whole community. Although I grew up in California and frequently spent time in Canyon lake during the 80’s, I spent a lot of time living throughout the U.S. and I fell in love with that small town feel. Canyon Lake has that, and I want to keep it. Where neighbors know and help each other and yet, everything we need or want is within a short drive for us.

I’m looking forward to helping our community to be one of the best in California, improving home values and enjoying friends, family and all that Canyon Lake has to offer.

We are fortunate to have great candidates this year. Regardless of who wins, I believe we have a bright future ahead, and I'm eager to contribute to a better Canyon Lake.
